Our Story – Why the LiteBite Horse Muzzle Was Created
The LiteBite Horse Muzzle initially came to fruition because of a big problem. Celie (the grandmother) has 2 ponies called Skye & Tara, who are, of course, very well looked after but have still had their fair share of dietary problems.
The main issue was that Skye could not stand any horse muzzle on the market and either tries to chew out the sides of it, or just walks around the field looking miserable.
After experimenting with dozens of muzzles, Celie had finally had enough and spent the next 3 years perfecting her own.
Soft and flexible, each muzzle is cut individually with water jets. The LiteBite Horse Muzzle was finally the one for Skye & she happily lost weight. Now with the help of her family, Celie wants to bring the LiteBite Horse Muzzle to unsatisfied horse owners around the world 🌎
The family all works together to try and make this happen. Celie & her daughter Sarah (the mum & Horse Behavioural Therapist) are both accredited instructors of the BHS and provide all the equestrian know-how.
Harry (that's me) is the grandson and takes care of all the IT and marketing. Then there is Andy (the dad), who helps on the fields and cooks the Sunday Roasts.

Designed by horse owners for horses
The LiteBite Horse Muzzle was developed by Celie Johnson after struggling to find a comfortable grazing muzzle for her own ponies, Skye and Tara.
Many muzzles on the market either rubbed, restricted natural grazing behaviour, or were quickly destroyed by determined ponies. After years of experimenting with designs, Celie developed the LiteBite muzzle to allow controlled grazing while remaining soft, flexible and comfortable.
The design was refined over three years and is now used by horse owners who need a safe way to manage weight and laminitis risk.
Celie BHS accredited instructor, works closely with her daughter Sarah, also a BHS accredited instructor and Horse Behavioural Therapist, ensuring the design reflects real equine behaviour and welfare needs.
Today the LiteBite muzzle is used by horse owners across the UK and beyond who want a practical solution for managing grass intake.
